Error proof pregnancy test

Error proof pregnancy test was nothing but EPT test. When the EPT test was introduced in the year 1978, it was called early pregnancy test. Now the same test is called the error proof test because there are tests like first response test that could detect the pregnancy much earlier to the EPT test.

EPT test could only detect the pregnancy hormone at the level of 40 m IU. But first response test could detect pregnancy hormone even if the level is 12.5 m IU. Earlier detection means earlier confirmation of the pregnancy.

Types or models of ERROR PROOF TEST

There are two types of error proof test. One is regular type in which the test strip is shown to the flow of urine of suspected women for five seconds and the strip is placed in the flat surface. One needs to wait for two or three minutes to get the result.

In case of positive test you can get plus sign in the display window and incase of negative one can see minus sign in the display window.

Whereas in digital model, the procedure is same as regular error proof test, but the test strip is placed in the plastic holder provided. To get the result the person need to wait for few minutes. Here the result reading is absolutely simple because the display window shows word PREGNANT in case of positive result and NOT PREGNANT in case of negative result.

As far as arrival to the market is concerned error proof test is the first. As far as the reliability of the test is concerned error proof test is the best. But this is not the test that could detect the pregnancy at the earliest. This surprises the many people.

This is because the pregnancy hormone produced by the placentas at the time of its union with uterine wall cannot be detected by this error proof test till the level of hormone reaches 40 m IU.

There few other tests like first response test could detect the hormone at 6.5 m IU level. Many wonder why the manufacturers of error proof test could improve upon. Even then many people like go for error proof test because of its easy use, trouble free result interpretation and the higher reliability of the test.

Error proof test is the best for those women who are on fertility drug that contain pregnancy hormone HCG. These women if they use pregnancy detection test such as first response test which is highly sensitive to pregnancy hormone [HCG], there is every possibility of getting the false positive.

This is because the test can wrongly confirm the pregnancy by detecting the HCG consumed in the form of fertility drug. This kind of false positive result is not possible in error proof test as they are less sensitive to pregnancy hormone.
